TIWL is in the early stages of developing first of its kind participatory research that explores the experiences of weight lifting coaches and trainers and trauma-impacted weight lifters. We seek to gather qualitative data to build an evidence base for weight lifting as an adjunctive intervention in the treatment of traumatic stress and in the promotion of posttraumatic growth.

We are currently seeking fiscal sponsors for our research. If you or your organization are interested in being a part of this first-of-its-kind research, get in touch.

Are you a researcher, doctoral student, academic institution or other organization interested in the healing capacities of weight lifting? We would love to hear from you.

While we are not actively recruiting for the study at this time, we are compiling a database of coaches, personal trainers and trauma-impacted weight lifters who may be interested in participating in the study.

TIWL is incredibly grateful to the Center for Trauma and Embodiment for its support of this research.
